Bass is in fine condition. It was owned by a well known jazz bassist. Ideally the action should be lowered somewhat for a more modern style jazz player to improve dexterity - this can be done at purchasers expense if required ( I estimate $500-600) The current action height would suit an orchestral player. Certainly it is totally playable as is. 
The instrument has been well looked after with no signs of repairs. It has an impressive  big solid sound. This is a lifetime instrument that will reward a great player after small adjustments to refine action.
